Courtney Thorne Smith Bio

American actress Courtney Thorne Smith was born November 8, 1967. She is best known for her roles in Melrose Place as Alison Parker on Melrose Place, Georgia Thomas on Ally McBeal, Cheryl in According to Jim as well as her recurring role on Two and a Half Men as Lyndsey McElroy. Thorne-Smith was born in San Francisco, California, and was raised in Menlo Park, a suburb south of San Francisco. Walter Smith was her father and Lora Thorne was her mother. Both were computer market researchers. Courtney was just seven years old when her parents divorced. Courtney lived with both parents at various times. She has a younger sister named Jennifer who works as an advertising executive. She attended the Menlo-Atherton High school located in Atherton, California, and graduated from Tamalpais High School, in Mill Valley, California, in the year 1985. While she was in the high school system, she was a member with Ensemble Theater Company of Mill Valley. Thorne-Smith's first film appearance in the 1986 feature film drama Lucas with Winona Ryder Corey Haim, and Charlie Sheen. She was also involved in various films in the late 1980s, such as Welcome to 18 (1986), Revenge of the Nerds II: Nerds in Paradise (1987), Summer School (1987), and Side Out (1990). She was in the role of Carrot Top in 1998's box office failure, Chairman of the Board. In 2009, she starred in Sorority Wars. Thorne Smith dated Andrew Shue in the 1990s. He was her screen mate from Melrose Place. In June 2000, she tied the knot with Andrew Conrad, a geneticist. The couple separated in January 2001. On January 1st, 2007, she married Roger Fishman, president of the marketing firm the Zizo Group and author of the book What I Know. On the 11th of January, 2008, at age 40, she gave birth to Jacob Emerson Fishman, her son. Jacob Emerson Fishman.
